Facecall for iPhone is a clever app that uses Web clips to create an icon on your iPhone home screen that when launched will quick dial a selected entry in your address book. The icon defaults to the contact image from your address book but you can replace this with a picture from your photo library or snap an image using the iPhones camera if you prefer. The images can be adjusted before saving to ensure the person is easily recognisable.

You can create as many of these dialer icons as you wish effectively creating a quick dial contacts page on your iPhone.

Not a free app but for £1.79 it is certainly not expensive.

Macgasm.net is a rapidly developing blog for Mac and Apple enthusiasts run by Joshua Schnell ( @macgasm ) and is supported by a growing number of guest contributors.

Apart from daily news and reviews Josh and Grant Brunner also record regular audio podcasts which are available on iTunes, there are occasional screencasts providing step through instructions and howtos and recently Josh has announced plans to begin a video podcast.

This site is nicely put together and is well worth a bookmark in your browser or favourite news reader. Recommended.
