Yet More Apple Netbook Rumours

Engadget.com have another report of possible relevance to Apple netbook rumours. They claim in this article that Apple have struck a deal with LG to supply 10″ OLED displays for the forthcoming netbook. To be fair Engadget do comment that the source of this report may well not be the most reliable and to read this for what it is, just another rumour….

Forthcoming Fix for Adobe Air Shift-Space Problem

According to DestroyToday the bug in Adobe Air which prevents spaces from appearing if you type Shift-Space will be fixed in the next release, though currently there is no timeframe for this new version.

I will be glad to see this fix as I use DestroyTwitter Twitter client which runs under Adobe Air and I am really fed up of sending Tweets with missing spaces…

Windows 7 Performance Tested on Mac Virtualization Apps

Techbuzzwords.com have an interesting comparison of the performance of Windows 7 running on VMWare Fusion, Parallels and VirtualBox.

If you want to know which product is speediest ( at least at the moment ) this is a useful review. You should bear in mind however that Parallels and VMware have played leapfrog since first releasing their Mac solutions, overtaking each other with each new release ( competition in this case is delivering better products for the community )

The iPhone App Store will ship its 200,000,000th application tomorrow

The milestone of 10 million iPhones in 2008 has already been surpassed and there is still the Xmas rush to go !

Apple now the worlds 3rd largest producer of mobile phones

This quarter Apple sold 11 million iPods, 6.8 million iPhones and 2.6 million iMacs

Will 9th September Event Be A Let Down ?

AppleInsider is reporting that analysts are warning to prepare for an “underwhelming” event on the 9th with only minor product enhancements ( new iPod Nano and reduced prices for iPod Touch ) expected. They don’t rule out the potential for a big announcement, but don’t seem too hopeful.

Personally I hope they are wrong. Part of the buzz around all of Jobs keynote speeches is always that “One More Thing” moment right at the end and the events where this doesn’t happen are extremely disappointing.

What do you think ? Big shock or damp squib ?
