Just installed the latest Mac update to try out the new App Store ? Having problems ? Some users are finding that the first time they try to download and install an App from the App Store an error informing them that “there was an error in the App Store. Please try again later (@@errorNum@@)”
Frustrating eh ? Fortunately the fix is quick and relatively simple. First close the App Store the open Finder and go to your home directory then select the Library folder followed by the Caches folder. You should see a folder called com.apple.appstore. Delete this folder and restart App Store and you should be good to go !
UPDATE: Apparently some users have fixed this problem by simply logging out then back in again. YMMV

I updated yesterday
Had no problems at all
Even installed an App ( a free text editor )
So what do you think of the store ( apart from the free apps ! ) ?
Some interesting points that are possibly not widely known/reported about apps in the App Store.
First purchases can be installed FREE on any Mac you use which for some households makes the proposition much more compelling.
Second, many apps are being sold at reduced price on box products. Take a look at Apeture for example which is going for £44 on App Store compared with £173 for the boxed product !
Sure there is an issue at the moment with re-purchasing apps you already own but you have to remember the App Store on Mac is NOT starting in a green field as it was with iPhone and iPad so there will be a period of transition.
Overall the store is a positive step forward from what I can see…
