- New drive seems a little louder ( more of a low hum ) than old one, small price to pay I suppose for 900Gb of free disk space… #
- Should I have chosen a different make ? Drive is Samsung 7200rpm. POssibly not the quietest ? #
- @telfordmedia No it isnt humming it is more that I can hear it spinning whereas before I think the 320Gb drive was silent. #
- Bugger, just noticed on original drive there was a small piece os padding on underside that I didnt transfer to new one, wonder if thats it? #
- I am going to be compelled now to take out new drive and attach it to see if it makes any difference… Sod it #
- @Vinnie110 Yes previous drive is WD 7200 rpm, this one is also 7200RPM. #
