Yes, it does work. However there is a simpler way!
- Go to :http://help.benm.at/help.php
- Scroll down to Mobileconfigs (download) and select
- Choose you're country & provider
- It will open up settings, select install
- Select OK and then reboot the iphone
- Go to settings, general, network, internet tethering and turn to on
- You can then either pair with your PC or Mac via bluetooth and select the iphone as your network, or plug in via USB and do the same.
Its a good idea to do this via USB at internet tethering will munch through your battery pretty quick.
You must have and iPhone on 3.0 to do this, and its not advisable to do it without a data plan as the costs would be pretty painful.
