reCAPTCHA Installed at Ukmac.net

31 January 2008 6 Comments

SPAM comments on blogs are a constant irritation as any blogger will tell you, and the number of junk comments received on UkMac.net has been steadily increasing so I have tonight installed a Captcha to try to prevent future junk comments.

reCAPTCHA is a nice slick solution and works pretty well from what I have seen personally on other blogs that have implemented it. The site requires you to create an account to use it and there are plugins for most popular blog systems including Wordpress.

Apologies for anyone wishing to post a comment on this site who is put off by this sort of protection and to those who still bother to leave a comment, thanks for your support !

Spam is such as pain, I dunno how I would cope without Akismet.

Yes but you can ask for another one to try by clicking on the refresh button on the captcha.

I could think of fo better place to write to you than your post on spam :-)

Any chance you’d be able add my site to your links page?

Or, give me a shout and I’ll write you an article.

Sure Robin, will post a link, may even write a short article myself if I get a minute…
