reCAPTCHA Installed at Ukmac.net
SPAM comments on blogs are a constant irritation as any blogger will tell you, and the number of junk comments received on UkMac.net has been steadily increasing so I have tonight installed a Captcha to try to prevent future junk comments.
reCAPTCHA is a nice slick solution and works pretty well from what I have seen personally on other blogs that have implemented it. The site requires you to create an account to use it and there are plugins for most popular blog systems including Wordpress.
Install OS X on Your Hackintosh PC, No Hacking Required
Lifehacker.com has an updated article on creating a Hackintosh ( a built it yourself PC that you install OS X onto ) by Adam Pash. This article details how to use the latest tools to install OS X Leopard without having to revert to too much hackery. The resulting PC this time around does not require the OS X DVD to be left in the machine to boot from as the previous version of this guide did.

How To Stop PhotoBooth Flash From Firing
Photobooth is one of the new “fun” apps that was added to OS X last year. What you may have found though is that there are times when you don’t want the screen to flash when taking a shot. This is especially true on the new 24in iMacs whose big bright screen produces a flash so bright that it often results in photos that are almost completely washed out.
There is however a way to take a picture with Photobooth without the flash firing. All you need to do is hold the Shift key down while you take the shot. Better still if you don’t want to wait for the 3 second timer before the shot is taken hold the Alt key down as well, the picture will take instantly.
How Many Switchers Have You Made ?
I have just had a quick count and I think in the last 12 months I directly affected 6 of my friends and family to turn their back on Windows and Get A Mac.
How many switchers did you make last year ?
CommentLuv Plugin for Wordpress Now Available at UKMac.net
Its always nice to get comments on your blog posts, it shows that people felt strongly enough about what you wrote to take the effort to type a response to it ( good or bad ! ).
The CommentLuv plugin for Wordpress allows you to give something back to your readers, a link to their most recent blog posting in your post. The plugin uses the name of the readers blog if they enter one, and attempts to retrieve a link to their most recent blog posting, which it then places in their comment.
