Apple today released the first update to OS X Leopard, 10.5.1, as well as a graphics adapter firmware update for new iMacs. The full details of the release can be read at :-

The release addresses a range of issues including one to “addresses a potential data loss issue when moving files across partitions in the Finder”. I am not clear if this is the issue reported widely last week or not ?

Obviously of most interest here at UkMac.net is the iMac video driver patch which I am hoping will address the freezing issue that has been affecting my 24″ iMac. Up until now I have been prepared to give Apple the benefit of the doubt and wait to see if a patch/fix would be released. If this fix prevents the freezing issue I will certainly be very happy, however if I get another freeze after tonight I will certainly be contacting Apple to see what can be done.
