Leopard Installed
So its finally Leopard day and I am up and running with the latest big cat from Cupertino. First impressions are very good and so far I am in general agreement with the reviews published today. Performance seems subjectively better than Tiger, but that could be down to the clean install. The new UI is nice, although I am generally disappointed with the folder icons in Finder which seem a little bland and uninteresting. I guess I can always replace with my preferred icon set in the future if it bothers me to much.
Coverflow in the Finder and Quicklook are very impressive and will certainly be useful tools, Spaces is slick and easy to use, I havent got to Time Machine yet thought this is one of the features I am most interested in, hopefully I will get an external drive hooked up and configured later this evening.
I am intending to put some specific thoughts together over the weekend once I have finished restoring everything back as I like it and have had a little more time to get a proper feel for the bits I like or don’t.
For now though I am certainly a happy techie…

If you did a clean install, what did you use to back up your data as you mention in the latter part of the post that you will be hooking up an external hd later.
I’m not installing Leopard until early next year (once I have an external hd that is)
